Diane Layton is a cofounder and Secretary of The 3929 Foundation, bringing decades of community service, caregiving experience, and small-business leadership to the organization. She currently serves as Office Manager for Allenbrand-Drews & Associates Inc., a civil engineering and land surveying firm, where she has worked for the past six years.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Diane owns and operates a small business with two locations and has worked as a cosmetologist for 36 years. She specializes in children’s haircuts and has a long history of supporting clients with special needs. Her commitment to families and children also includes 10 years of service as a special education paraprofessional.

Diane has been deeply involved in her community, serving for 10 years on the PTO boards at two of her children’s schools as Fundraising Chair, as well as two years on the Sigma Nu Fraternity Moms Club board. Her passion for service is deeply personal. After losing her mother to breast cancer in 1998 and navigating her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2009, she became a strong advocate for cancer awareness and support. Her dedication grew even stronger when her son, Jackson, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in 2025 and given a limited prognosis. Following the passing of Board Member President Matt Fitzmorris’s father, Al Fitzmorris, and Jackson’s diagnosis, The 3929 Foundation was created. These experiences drive Diane’s commitment to the foundation’s mission of providing education, resources, and financial assistance to individuals and families facing cancer.

Diane has been married to her husband, Rob Layton, for 31 years, and they are the proud parents of four children—Courtney, Jackson, Zachary, and Cameron—whom she considers her greatest accomplishments. A lifelong Kansan and devoted Kansas City sports fan, she loves cheering on the Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals. Above all, she cherishes every moment spent with her family.
